Provide leadership and direction to health care team members in the delivery of clinical nursing care. Promote a professional focus and environment conductive to innovation and change.

Develop, monitor and evaluate clinical outcome measures and ensure clinical documentation reflects nursing interventions and resident/client progress according to legal and service requirements, in residential aged care, acute care, community and primary health care settings.

Develop implement and evaluate resident/client care policies and procedures, including risk management and quality improvement. Facilitate appropriate training to MPS Care staff.

Provide advice and support to the Tasman MPS Manager in the development, implementation and evaluation of health care service policies and initiatives. As required, undertake and manage projects.

In collaboration with the Tasman MPS Manager. Manage the human and financial management functions of the Care Service, including participation in regular performance reviews of the Unit's operations.

Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding national directions in the provision of health services under the multi purpose health service (MPS) model. Identify and investigate implications of these for the Tasman MPS and in consultation with national standards and benchmarks.

Participate as an effective member of the Tasman MPS senior management team in the development, promotion and implementation of the Service's strategic direction and service plans.
