We have day hospitals, day centres, out-patients clinics, home care teams and a menu of occupational training initiatives. Mental health promotion and education is a feature of our services. We are moving towards the final stages of a major reorganisation of our services. These include transferring acute services to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin [60 beds], development of psychiatry of old age services with 6 assessment beds and a psychiatry of old age day hospital in Beaumont; development of a specialist team in rehabilitation psychiatry which includes community residential accommodation and occupational training schemes. We are also developing psychotherapy services in the area and we have expanded the liaison psychiatric team at Beaumont Hospital by appointing a liaison psychiatric nurse, social worker and psychologist.

The service has a very successful Home Care Management team in place since 1992 and this service provides home care to over 200 patients and their families. This is a nurse led service, which has been instrumental in changing the focus of care and improving the quality of life for clients and their families.
