Chief Operating Officer – Dubai – $500,000

Our client is a state of the art private facility with over 200 beds whose mission is to provide high quality American standard healthcare that meets the expectations of the people of Dubai, the UAE and the surrounding Gulf States.

Essential Requirements:

  1. Strong experience as a senior executive in a community-based healthcare organization, successfully overseeing hospital, ambulatory and outpatient operations
  2. COO experience is mandatory

Remuneration package AUS $500,000

The Chief Operating Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and have responsibility for operational and clinical areas including: inpatient nursing, outpatient clinics group practice, support services, pharmacy and ancillary medical services of Medical Imaging, Laboratory, Cardiopulmonary and Physiotherapy.

The COO will provide the leadership and assume responsibility and accountability for focused strategic initiatives that fall within American Hospital Dubai’s five pillars: Quality, Growth, People, Service and Cost.
The COO will have direct oversight for the following Director positions:

• Inpatient Nursing
• Clinic Operations
• Facilities Management
• Pharmacy
• Medical Imaging
• Laboratory
• Cardiopulmonary
• Physiotherapy

In collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, this position is responsible for the overall productivity, performance management, and profitability of the reporting departments. The COO will plan, direct, and coordinate the development of the team, as well as the operational activities and quality healthcare programs in these service areas. He/she will also ensure the implementation of policies and practices that promote efficiency and effectiveness of operations. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the COO will work with the senior managers to ensure quality of care, operations efficiency and fiscal discipline in the hospital.

 POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree is required as is an MPH, MHA, MBA or other relevant graduate degree is required 
  2. Strong experience as a senior executive in a community-based healthcare organization, successfully overseeing hospital, ambulatory and outpatient operations
  3. COO experience is mandatory
  4. Minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience (preferably varied clinical background) including 5 years in a managerial capacity
  5. Strong business judgment and financial acumen. A history of establishing and implementing revenue generating initiatives and managing budgets
  6. Must possess excellent financial and analytical skills. Fully understands the financial aspects of running a hospital bringing a broad business perspective with sound business judgment.

  8. Quality Assurance/Utilization
