St Andrew's is an acute care hospital specialising in technologically advanced surgical and general medical care. The hospital has 286 beds including an Intensive Care Unit, Coronary Care Unit, Day Surgery Unit and Endoscopy Centre.

In 2000 St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital became part of the UnitingCare Health Group and joined eight other UnitingCare Health hospitals to provide a network of more than 1000 hospital beds across Queensland.

St Andrew's Hospital can be accessed through its Priority Emergency Centre 24 hours per day. The centre provides urgent priority care in the case of accidents, illness and medical emergencies.
