Registrar job Forensic Psychiatry – Sydney

Our client the Forensic Hospital in Sydney has an opening for a Registrar Psychiatry.
This position is qualified as an Advanced Training position for a period of 12 months.

Essential requirements:

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and a minimum 3 years post graduate medical experience.
  2. Past experience in Psychiatry, preferably as a Psychiatry Trainee or CMO in Psychiatry.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) with patients, their families, medical and non-medical colleagues.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary clinical care team.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing training, education, research and teaching.
  6. Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  7. Current unrestricted drivers licence.
  8. Availability to work on the on-call roster.

Registrar General Medicine position North Coast NSW

Our client is seeking a Registrar General Medicine with a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience.

The hospital is an acute referral hospital of 260 beds, serving a population of approximately 170,000 people on the Far North Coast of NSW. The city is situated between World Heritage listed rainforest and the pristine beaches of Evans Head, Ballina, Lennox Head and Byron Bay.

You will be coordinating the admission, assessment, management and discharge planning of patients seen and admitted to the hospital: 

  1. Provision of patient care as a delegate of the specialist consultant involved in management of the patient; at all times making decisions in consultation with their immediate supervisor. This includes participation in the outpatient services provided at the various sites by the Consultant.
  2. Communicating and co-ordinating care with their team, arranging consultation with other staff when appropriate and then arranging discharge and liaising with local medical officers and other community based care modalities as appropriate.
  3. Communication of assessment and management decisions to appropriate VMO / Staff Specialist, junior medical staff, multidisciplinary team members and other staff involved in the patient’s care.
  4. Communicating with the patient and their family the nature of their condition and its treatment.
  5. Member of multidisciplinary team and participation in regular ward rounds and case conferences.
  6. Supervision of Interns, Resident Medical Officers and medical students within the clinical team.
