Our client is seeking a Nursing Unit Manager Level 3 for the Acute Mental Health Inpatient Services in South East Sydney
 
The purpose of the Nursing Unit Manager role is to:

  1. Lead, direct and co-ordinate patient care;
  2. Ensure the practice of nursing is safe and efficient, maintaining standards of care through continual quality improvement initiatives.
  3. Lead and co-ordinate the nursing team at the ward or unit level, and
  4. Monitor the business and management functions and processes of the ward or unit

As the Nurse Unit Manager, level 3 for the acute inpatient Mental Health Services, you will lead a team of dedicated staff to facilitate better health outcomes and wellbeing improvements for our Mental Health patients. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, providing excellent care to support patients in their recovery journey. You will also actively facilitate and contribute to challenging quality projects that will positively influence standards of care in your clinical area.

Selection Criteria:

1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

2. Demonstrated skills in leadership and management within an acute mental health inpatient service setting.

3. A demonstrated knowledge and experience in the management and delivery of mental health services.

4. A demonstrated understanding of quality improvement and the ability to manage change.

5. Demonstrable negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

6. Computer literacy skills and current drivers licence.

7. Tertiary qualifications in management or extensive experience in the management of mental health services.

The Mental Health Services in South East Sydney are seeking a Nurse Educator.

A Nurse Educator Grade 3 shall be responsible for one of the following:
A comprehensive nursing education program across an Area Health Service, a sector of an area health service or in a tertiary referral public hospital or affiliated health organisation; or

The nurse education service of a public hospital or affiliated health organisation (excluding a tertiary referral hospital, group of hospitals or health facility.

Incremental progression to the 2nd year and thereafter rate at this grade shall be upon completion of 12 months satisfactory full-time service.
  
The Nurse Educator Grade 3 is a registered nurse position that has responsibility for the provision coordination and review of nursing education, training and professional development in a range of contexts and environments in the mental health sector.
